Manhattan, NY – Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg said his office was prepared to start the criminal trial against Donald Trump on March 25, 2024 as planned, but does not oppose a 30-day delay in order to give Donald Trump’s lawyers additional time to review new evidence. Trump’s lawyers have requested 90 days. You can read the District Attorney’s response to the request HERE:

Indictment # 71543-23 – People of the State of New York v. Donald J. Trump – People’s Notice Regarding the Production of Records from the U.S. Attorney’s Office and Consent to Adjournment 3-14-2024

On March 13, 2024, the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York, which prosecuted former Trump attorney Michael Cohen, released 31,000 pages of documents related to the allegations involving an alleged hush money payment from Michael Cohen to Stormy Daniels. This document dump follows 73,000 pages of records that were turned over on March 4, 2024. The Federal prosecutor also indicated that there will be additional documents to be produced next week over and above the 100,000 pages of documents withheld over the past year.

The Manhattan District Attorney blames Trump and his defense team for the delay, despite the fact that the the United States Attorney’s Office has withheld the documents from both Trump’s defense team and the Manhattan District Attorney for the past 12 months.

The case is pending before the Honorable Juan Merchan in the New York County Supreme Court, Criminal Term in Manhattan. The case is The People of the State of New York v. Donald J. Trump, Indictment # 71543-23. The trial is currently scheduled for March 25, 2024. When the case will be rescheduled will be decided by Judge Merchan.
