People of the State of New York v. Donald Trump - Order Denying Motion for Mistrial 11-17-2023

Manhattan, NY – Judge Arthur Engoran has denied Donald Trump’s motion for a mistrial in the civil fraud trial two days after it was filed.

Two days ago, on November 15, 2023, lawyers for Trump filed a motion for a mistrial arguing substantial and undeniable evidence of both apparent and actual bias in the ongoing proceedings. UndoingTime linked a copy of the motion here:

The motion and exhibits were in excess of 1800 pages of material.

Without a response from New York Attorney General Leticia James, Judge Engoran immediately issued a decision denying the motion, calling it meritless. He also denied Donald Trump an opportunity to be heard on the motion.

It is unclear how, or if, Judge Engoran read the entire motion in the past two days.
